The babies arrived safe and sound. They are
beautiful and everyone adores them! They are bright, alert
and eating well. Both have been quite cranky, nippy and
upset from all the changes, but I expected this. I know that
in time, the rough edges will smooth out and they will
eventually settle in. Today, I started formal one-on-one
handling. Each baby calmed down enough to allow me to give
some brief head scratches. I was especially surprised by
this because the older baby is very feisty, independent and
temperamental. As a pair, they seem to feed off each
other's excitement. So I plan to handle them separately
till they trust me, then I will work them together. For
now, they are housed in the same cage so they can comfort
one another and get used to their new home. As long as they
remain compatible and happy, they can stay together for
life.
I took them to the vet Saturday and a
complete exam was done. The lab results should be ready by
Monday or Tuesday.
Lisa, thank you for everything! Your are a
breeder second to none and I will highly recommend you to
anyone in search of a baby parrot! If you are interested, I
will send you photos of the babies at a later date.

Ellery just came back from his veterinarian. He, no
surprises here, is a healthy boy. He has even gained a
little weight!
Ellery is such a joy; he is affectionate, curious, and very
vocal. He eats his foods, pellets, fruits and veggies, and a
little seed, plays with all of his toys; Ellery is just a
great little lilac-crowned.
Thank you so much for raising this little treasure!

Hey Lisa,
HE IS GREAT!!! Made it safe and sound...what a character he is.
He seems to really like his cage, showed him where his pellets
were and he ate quite a bit. When I left him for bed, he was
checking out his toys and hanging from the top of his cage.
Thanks again for everything. Will see how he does through the
weekend and give you an udpate next week!

Hello Lisa...Lucky is doing great, such a sweet
bird! Still begging for food, like a baby:-) my daughter LOVES
your baby, they has a singing duet going!
I have a question, as my experience with a great billed was with
an adult male...do they grow bigger as they mature? Let me know
your thoughts.

Hi Lisa!
Our baby is here and she is absolutely beautiful!!! She's a
little timid but she's had quite a stressful day. Thank you so

Just a quick note to let you
know the birds are doing great. They are a little shy right
now, but that is expected. They are both sweet. They love to
be on my shoulder. Can you tell me what brand of food they
are eating so I can keep them on the same diet. They love to
eat. They should of been pigs. LOL

Hi Lisa,
Just wanted to let you know that Nikolai has settled in
well, with no bites or nips since day one, when he was
more than a little tired. He's in love with ponytails
and tries to untie my hair all the time. He's dying to
be a shoulder bird, and absolutely loves the feed mix
I've made for him, based on your seed mix.
He's in great health and is growing before our eyes.
Needless to say he's stolen my heart.
Thank you so much for all that you've done to raise this
bird, we're so impressed that he's already trying to say
"hi" and is clucking along with "dueling banjos".
Spectacular bird, we couldn't be happier. I'll cherish
him forever.
I've attached a photo from day two with him.
Thanks again for such a wonderful little baby,

Hi Lisa! Just
a note to let you know the birds have fallen in love! They love
each other now it’s the cutest thing EVER! Zoey and Pipi even
preen each other. They don’t like to sleep together though,
Zoey has her cage and Pipi’s got his in the other room. We are
having a blast watching
Zoey
grow-she’s hilarious! What a personality that little one has,
she’s spunky and feisty and plays so much, she rolls over and
gosh, she NEVER stops eating! She is really coming into her
own. I gave her her first real bath on Saturday (she was
smelling like a
hamster)…I
just plopped her right down in a bowl of water in the sink and
she looked at me like I was insane, then
I
poured a little over her head and she looked like
“oh my
gosh!” then she was mad at me for the rest of the day. I put
her in the sun and she was dry in an hour, but that was a long
time for such an itty bitty little thing to be wet! So low and
behold then next day (another record
heat
day) we look over at her and she was IN her water dish! She
loved it! Crazy little thing! Well, at least she doesn’t smell
anymore! She’s doing so well, and we love her so much. My
favorite thing is right before I leave for work (before everyone
else is up) I get her out of her cage and she gives me early
morning baby birdie quiet kisses…it’s the sweetest thing. Then
she goes back in her cup and goes back to sleep. Did I tell you
she turned one of the feed cups into a bunkbed? This cage we
bought
came with an odd cup so far close to the top of the cage, no
bird could use it for feed so we left it empty. Zoey found it
made a perfect little bed for her. We even put a little cloth
in it for her to chew.
Anyway she’s
doing so well and we are so very happy with her. Thanks so much
to you and
Mike for
breeding such a sweet little one. The next time we expand our
family I want to go with a bigger bird- probably and African
Grey…and we’ll be in touch with you! |

She's SO
beautiful!!!! You've done such a magnificent job on her! She
was nervous and sleepy when I got her home, so I let her
inch out of the carrier slowly. After about 10 minutes, she
came over and leaned against me and then I cuddled her
watching TV. She slept for about 30 minutes before I showed
her the cage. She settled right in, drank and devoured 1/2
cup of sprouted seeds and grains, veggies and a bit of
fruit, then she took several bites of dry food before
zonking out again. What a pretty little girl! Thanks so
much!
Thanks for the
toy! You certainly didn't have to send it, but it'll
definitely be put to good use! I'm happy to recommend you!
Yours, Tina
Lilly is
doing great, she's a handful! She demands her evening
cuddle time! What did you do to this bird, Lisa? She's a
Grey! She's not supposed to WANT cuddles now! hehe! -

Hello!
Luigi is doing really well. He didn't eat the first night he was
home, but the next day he ate some of the seed you provided as
well as some of the Zupreem pellets. I made some of the kitchen
creations and smothered it with sweet potato baby food, and he
seemed to like it. I let him out of his cage once yesterday, and
he's a bit snappy, but he will step up.
He likes music! Otherwise he's been very quiet and watchful.

Hi Lisa and Mike,
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you; we had a hard
time finding a name for our vibrant little girl! We've finally
decided to go with "Tula". She's been a great addition to our
home. She was pretty shy (but still very cuddly) up until the
last few days, but now she's really starting to let her
personality out. She's reliably stepping up now and even
rolling over onto her back! Tula has been very open to new
things, including an Aviator Bird Harness allowing her to spend
time outside with us. Yesterday she went to a Reno Area Avian
Enthusiast event where she got to watch "The Wild Parrots of
Telegraph Hill" with Dan! She's a big fan of peas, brocolli,
and popcorn, and she *loves* sweet peppers. Our other birds are
still a little wary of her, but she gets to move into the bird
room tomorrow... We'll keep you updated, but I promise we're
giving her lots of hugs in the meantime!
Thank you so much for doing such a great job with her! You are
by far the best bird facility we've ever seen (and the most
normal bird people we've ever met!).
Sincerely,
Diana and Dan Freeman |

Hi Lisa,
First of all we decided to name him Rico Suave' and
call him Rico. He wasn't too tired when we got
home last night. I was surprised at the amount of
energy he had. This morning started about 6:30. He
had his seed, pellets, broccoli, apple, carrot and
corn. He had a little scrambled egg with my son
(nothing on it, of course) He has a great
appetite! I think he nibbled all day long. He
spent most of his day on his playstand with in my
view. We snuggled for a while on the couch and
watched TV. He's not too noisy but is trying to say
hello. He loves his toys and is very curious about
everything.
He is a great addition to our family. Thanks
again!!! Denise
